A Durham Regional Police officer conducts a traffic stop.DRPS officers from every Division will be targeting unsafe drivers around schools for the annual week-long “In the Zone” campaign. The campaign started March 20, the first day back to school after March Break for many students.

Officers will be conducting the week-long traffic safety blitz around neighbourhood schools in Durham Region. DRPS would like to remind drivers to slow down and pay attention to the roads as pedestrian traffic will be heavier as students return to school.

The goal of the annual enforcement campaign is to ensure high officer visibility and proactive enforcement in and around school zones.
